Overview
Matrice 5T pairs LiDAR, mmWave radar and vision sensing in a compact, IP55-rated airframe. A 1K thermal camera and enhanced low-light optics keep the picture clear day and night, so one aircraft covers emergency response, inspection and surveying work.
The Film
Thermal & Night Vision
A native 1280 x 1024 thermal sensor gives four times the pixels of a standard 640 x 512 unit. Switch on UHR Infrared Image for 2560 x 2048 output at 30 fps, and heat anomalies still stand out against cluttered backgrounds.
A large 1/0.98-inch sensor with an f/1.8 lens pulls in light, and AI low-light enhancement pushes ISO to 1,600,000. The result is full-color imagery in conditions as dark as 0.01 lux.
A 50 MP sensor with 3x optical zoom resolves fine detail at medium range. On power-line and bridge jobs it picks out pins and cracks from about 10 meters away.
An 11x optical and 176x hybrid zoom on a 50 MP sensor reaches distant targets, including license plates at up to 400 m. The RYYB array gathers more light for strong low-light and monochrome night performance.
Measures out to 3 km and supports pinpointing, line drawing and area calculation, so assets and wildfire spread can be marked or measured on the spot.
A near-infrared illuminator lights up to 100 m, backing up the telephoto camera's monochrome night view for clearer close-up detail.
Thermal and visible feeds are fused on the remote, enabling temperature checks and alerts straight on the visible view, with a dial to adjust the blend.
Sensing & Durability
Matrice 5T carries an IP55 rating for dust and rain and holds up across -20 to 50 C (-4 to 122 F). It is built to keep flying when the weather turns.
LiDAR, mmWave radar and an omnidirectional vision system work together to spot thin obstacles. LiDAR picks up power lines at night from up to 32 m, and radar keeps sensing through fog, rain and dust.
Full-color fisheye sensors keep visual positioning working down to 0.5 lux, and Vision Assist gives the pilot a clear color view for better situational awareness after dark.
Under bridges, in canyons or between tall buildings, Matrice 5T blends visual and radar data to map its surroundings live and hold a dependable position.
Built-in ADS-B and RID receivers detect nearby manned and unmanned aircraft and warn the pilot, which matters in busy airspace or multi-drone operations.
Edge AI
Onboard AI models recognize more than 20 target types. Thermal and visible feeds are analyzed side by side, so vehicles, vessels and fires get locked on quickly.
Connect DJI Pilot 2 to DJI FlightHub 2 and search by text or image prompt. The cloud model interprets the request, finds matching objects and raises alerts.
Outline an area on the map and an efficient patrol route is generated for you. The aircraft detects targets as it flies and can hover, shoot photos, record video or broadcast audio on cue.
Transmission
O4 Enterprise Enhanced uses the sub-2G band and a high-gain smart antenna array to reach up to 40 km, with adaptive multi-band switching to push through urban interference. Dual DJI Cellular Dongle 2 support adds a cellular backup link.

DJI Terra stitches thermal images into 2D orthomosaics so temperatures can be read and anomalies marked on the map.
The remote builds local point clouds or 2.5D models in flight, with on-the-spot annotation and measurement.
